Thank God, I think!

Thank God, I think! I went to the doctor. Didn't see the doctor, but did see the PA. She took a lot of time and explained the possibilities of high protein in the blood to me. She also told me that my tests didn't show protein in the urine (that's good) and that my blood levels were high, but not very high (that's good, too).

The name of the diagnosis as it stands now is Monoclonal Gammopathy. It is kind of a non-event as blood disorders go. It just means that I have high protein and need to keep a check to make sure that it doesn't develop into something else.

They ordered more blood tests, more urine specs, and complete body x-rays for further testing. Those tests will show whether I have anything else (that would be bad). I feel much better after talking to her and getting the full information. I go back on Monday to see the doctor and to get the test results. I hope that I won't get worried again before then.

I told Tripp about the tests today. I told him that it was probably nothing, but they needed to run more tests. I tried to sound upbeat and calm. He got quieter and asked why I didn't tell him earlier. I told him that I told him when I knew what to tell. We agreed to wait to tell Holly on Monday unless she asked questions. That one worries so! And I will wait to tell Jenna on Monday.

Jean went to the Doctor with me and Lynda met us there. How blessed I am! Jean went to the radiologist with me, too. You are too good, Lord. I can't encompass it all!

I will go eat tonight with Lynda and Dan and Betty. Then, I'm off to Orlando for work. I can't wait to come back on Friday - and to go to the doctor on Monday.

I guess that I need to count my blessings every day. I know that if these tests don't come out like I hope they will, I will go through a lot of grief. But, I hope that my focus and faith stay strong. I am still scared, but with a few more facts about possibilities I feel much calmer.

I still need to update my will and get some names on some of the things that I have so that the kids don't go zonkers over who gets what when the time comes. Jean may have to wait for a car, but I'd bet that that is ok with her.

I guess I had better get "packin" and study my materials for class this week. Thank God, for sure!
